Essays on Rare Books

Beginning in 2004, Tony curated and acquired approximately ninety first-edition books and manuscripts published in English, forming his special canon of great books – works of literature, history, observations, science, and philosophy – that have inspired America’s founding, actions, and reactions. These works reflect our nation’s many zeitgeists – spirits of the times – and its culture, politics, and economics. The essays on this page are Tony’s writings about each of these books.
